Story Maker is available through itunes. Create an avatar and a setting along with a story that allows you to print to make a paperdoll or book from a printer.
Sock Puppet and Puppet Pals allows you to create a story with a setting and characters. Have children write the story then allow them to create it with the iPod.
http://vocaroo.com/ Children can record themselves reading their favorite poem and click the post to internet link. The links can then be copied and put on one word document. That collective document can be put on the computers. Children then can access other students' favorite poems to listen to.

Story Wheel is an app available through itunes. Multiple players are available to add to a story. A theme is selected and then the story wheel is spun; a player records a story line to go with that particular picture that the wheel has spun. This app enhances storytelling and imagination.
Using a document camera have students read their writing to the class. They should work on presentation skills as they are reading. Then have the audience write a summary of the story that was read. They can use a graphic organizer to make sure they have included the vital information.

Grammar Jammars Primary Edition is an app that is available through itunes. This app has taken adjectives, contractions, nouns, pronouns, punctuation, sentences and verbs and given them a jazzy tune much like that of Schoolhouse Rock. After each song of demonstration a quick check is available.
Grammar Dragon is an app available through itunes. It is a game that allows practice of in naming the function of words from a sentence displayed. Grade level can be chosen to increase level of complexity.
This can be used for centers or for assigning a homework task and monitor progress. Resources have printables and interactive whiteboards.

This chat service requires no download or registration. I would hesitate to use with kids because of some inappropriate ads. Great for teacher collaboration though.
Kidblog is designed for elementary schools. It is very easy to use. You can set up your class in just a few minutes. This is a secure site for students.
Voice Memos and GarageBand
Record student reading, save, email to self, save as mp3 and load into GarageBand. Can play back or create podcast. Can then post on website.
ipod and computer (you will find Voice Memos in your utilities setting on the ipod)
Can use for fluency check, book reviews, class events. We recorded voice messages for a sick little girl last week. I loaded the messages and a few songs from itunes and burned a cd. It was very easy and extremely clear.
